Cruise on the river Chao Phraya, in 2 days / 1 night Ref: RT001B
Departure from Bangkok on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
and arrival at Ayuthaya on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Day 1:Ayuthaya / Wat Nivet / Ko Kerd / Mae Nam Noi

13.00 Appointment at the pier of Ayuthaya with the English-speaking local guide, situated at 100 metres of the city railway station. Get on board of the barge, and welcomed by the crew, then departure of the cruise for a journey of two days on the river Chao Phraya to explore the countryside and observe the way of life and culture of the rural Thai people.

14.30 Stop briefly to visit Wat Nivet Dhamma Prawat, a unique temple built by King Rama V in 1876 in the style of a gothic church.

15.00 Departure for Ko Kerd, an island in the middle of the main Chao Phraya River known for its successful return to integrated organic agricultural production. The farming cooperative also produces herbs and spices for use in Thai massage and herbal saunas. Methods employed at the local temple provide cure and relief for paralysis.

15.30 Arrival at Ko Kerd and exploration of the island by bicycle to observe the way of life and culture of the rural Thai.

16.30 Return to the barge, and navigation on the river Mae Nam Noi, towards Wat Chang Noi.

18.30 Arrival after nightfall at Wat Chang Noi. Thai dinner and night on board

14.00 Navigation on the river to Wat Pailom, well known as a winter nesting ground of the Asian Open bill Stork which migrates from northern India and Siberia to this unique place

Day 2: Mae Nam Noi / Wat Taku / Ayuthaya

07.00 Early wake-up for the visit of a local temple and participation in a food offering to Buddhist monks. Continuation to a small village and then breakfast on board.

08.00 Navigation towards Wat Taku.

11.30 Arrival at Wat Taku and after an early lunch set off by bicycle to explore the local villages along the Mae Nam Noi, and a buddhist temple.

13.00 Get on the barge to Wat Kophai and navigation toward Ayuthaya, with a stop and the visit of a camp where elephants are trained..

17.30 Arrival at Ayuthaya train station pier and end of the cruise.

Why wouldn't you rent the barge to celebrate an event in family, to renew a friendship between friends or to motivate your team? That is possible in small committee and up to 12 persons. Ayuthaya / Bangkok: Departure from Ayuthaya on Wednesday at 8:30 am and arrival in Bangkok on Friday at 6 pm.

Return to Bangkok or continuation towards the North:
By train: the station is located at 100 metres of the pier, and Bangkok is reached in 1:30 hour. There is a night train to Chiang Mai with departure at about 9.00 pm and arrive in the next morning.
By vehicle: according to the destination and the number of participants, transfers can be arranged with supplement to Bangkok or northern Thailand.
The airport of Donmuang (Bangkok) is at 1:00 hour of Ayuthaya, and it is also possible to arrange a flight to the north or the islands of the south.

Info: Bring soap, towel and other personal toilet items, trousers or shorts suitable for cycling, a sweatshirt or a coat for the cool nights, insect repellent, and a sense of adventure!

I will always remember this day when I went on board this twenty-one-metre long and six-metre wide barge made of teak, named "The Floating Treasure", for an unforgettable journey from the capital toward the central plains. Its name was effectively well chosen as during my three-day stay in its wooden belly, I discovered with the rhythm of water a treasure of landscapes hidden from tourists.
