|
14.00 Departure to "Heaven and Hell" in Wat Pa Lak Roy,
an outstanding temple situated at about twenty kilometres
from Pimai.
With a sculpture exhibition of colourful animals, scenes
of the Thai daily life and numerous symbolic statues that
are animated and produce frightening sounds or music, this
temple gives itself for objective to raise people awareness
of the different sins they should not do during their lives.
The site
is like a public park where it is possible to take a small
train pulled by a tractor to tour the surroundings or to
raise a statue of Buddha up in the sky mechanically, as
here there is no golden Chedi, but an original Uposatha
that adds strangeness to this place.
Every
sculpture or stage representing a sin contains an enigma,
a proverb or a commentary, and a guide is then essential
for the translation of the explanations that are written
only in Thai and are very important for the understanding
of Thai culture.
New scenes
are built every day and the Temple is not only a place of
cult and teaching but also an outdoor Art museum.
16.00 After the visit of Wat Pa Lak Roy, back to Bangkok by vehicle.
18.00 Arrival in Bangkok.
