Scuba diving in Koh Tao (Gulf of Siam)

Koh Tao called the Turtle Island because of its shape, situated at about 90 minutes by boat of Chumporn, is one of the best places in Southeast Asia for all those who think about learning and practicing diving, or just change atmosphere.

Example of one day with 3 dives, including one at night:

8.00 Breakfast at the restaurant of the cottage.

9.00 Collection of the equipment in the diving centre including the BCD with regulator and manometer, the diving outfit, the palms (with or without slipper) and the mask. The bottles and the weights are already on board of the boat. Underwater photography equipment is rented on a daily basis.

10.00 First dive in the waters of Ko Tao with a visibility often superior to 30 metres. A qualified diving guide will supervise the dive. According to the season, you will be able to observe the rays, turtles, batfish or angelfish, barracudas, parrotfish and magnificent corals.

12.00 Lunch: According to the dive site, lunch will be taken on board of the boat; in a restaurant along the beach on the island; or as a picnic on one of the isolated beaches.

14.00 Second dive of the day, with assistance of the diving guide.

16.00 Back to the diving centre, and free time for relaxation.

18.30 Departure by boat to the night diving site.

Things to do for non divers

"For all the others that don't feel like diving, other activities are possible like the tour of the island in dugout with a stop to Ko Nang Yuan, an island with 3 beach arms like a star shape and the sea on all sides, or on foot in the jungle for the most courageous.
The very beautiful idyllic beaches, abandoned by the webbed feet that are all in 10 meters deep water, are also an invitation to sunbathing and relaxation with their white sand. Snorkeling with a mask, a tuba and palms, will know how to amaze you with a fauna of colorful fish coming around you, and walls of multicolored corals."
